Open Days: International conference in Basilicata

On 30th and 31st of October, the Region of Basilicata will organize an international conference in the framework of the European “Open Days”, an initiative of the European Commission and of the Committee of the Regions. The title of the conference is “Earth Observation and New Technologies for Environmental Monitoring, Assessment and Management”.

Experts from the NEREUS network (the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies) will be invited together with those from other Italian and European Institutions interested in Earth observation and environmental monitoring. The aim is to present expertise in the Basilicata region for research, technology and governance, to share experiences and best practices and to promote partnerships for future EU projects through four thematic workshops (GMES-Kopernikus, GALILEO, ESA-IAP, Territorial cooperation). During the thematic workshops, the interested participants (download the form) will present their project ideas for the coming calls for tender to the EC and ESA officials and to potential partners. This will ensure preliminary evaluation concerning the coherence with the Programmes’ objectives and priorities.

The conference will take place in the Auditorium Comunale, piazza San Francesco, Matera (IT).

Simultaneous translation will be provided into Italian, English and French.
